Product Description

Description

The IFD20 triple infrared flame detector is a kind of new-type intelligent fire detection equipment. This detector adopts the multi-infrared sensing technology (MIR), and is provided with three infrared sensors with different wavelengths and narrow-band filtering. One sensor is used to reflect the central wavelength of the flame information, and the other two are used to monitor other infrared radiation in the environment. Combined with the flicker characteristics of the flame, the radiation spectrum with flame characteristics can be identified as a fire alarm by means of the operational analysis with the high-speed microprocessor and technical algorithm. This detector can suppress the interferences such as sunlight, lightning, electric welding, thermal radiation, electromagnetic interference, mechanical vibration, etc., is provided with strong anti-interference capacity, and can quickly respond to and accurately identify the flame signal.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the IFD2020 Triple Infrared Flame Detector prevent false alarms?
It utilizes Multi-Infrared sensing technology (MIR) with three narrow-band infrared sensors. While one sensor monitors the primary flame characteristics, the other two monitor environmental radiation. Combined with a high-speed microprocessor and a custom algorithm, it successfully filters out interferences like sunlight, lightning, electric welding, and thermal radiation.
What is the maximum detection distance and coverage area?
The IFD2020 features a wide detection angle of 90° and is capable of detecting a standard 0.3m x 0.3m n-heptane flame from a distance of up to 50 meters.
What kinds of output interfaces are integrated into this detector?
The detector provides flexible signal integrations, including a standard 4-20mA current analog output, a passive output for fault relays, and a passive output for fire alarm relays (both rated at AC:3A 250V / DC:3A 30V).
Is the detector explosion-proof and weatherproof?
Yes. The detector has a rugged aluminum alloy body, features an IP66 protection rating, and holds the explosion-proof mark Ex db IIC T6 Gb / Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db. It operates reliably in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C.
How does the LED system indicate different device states?
The integrated LED display shows operational status: a blinking green light indicates normal operation, while a permanently-illuminated red light alerts of an active fire alarm.
How is the sensor sensitivity calibrated or adjusted?
The sensitivity is adjustable externally using a magnetic rod. This design allows you to calibrate and configure the detector conveniently without removing the outer cap.
